Jan Woolf
2013 Writer in Residence

Jan Woolf is joining GARP this year as writer in residence (but pulling weight in the field of course, with trowel as well as biro).  Jan has a special interest in TE Lawrence, having been awarded the Beaverbrook Bennet essay prize for an extended essay on TEL when she was sixteen. Many years later, her published writing includes 'Fugues on a Funny Bone'  (short stories, pub Muswell Press 2010),  and three plays, the most recent You Don't Know What You Don't Know for the event TEN, at the Royal Court, commemorating the tenth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.  She is now the events producer for Stop the War coalition, currently working on a series of cultural events for the centenary of the outbreak of WW1.  She will be working on a new full length play about the legacy of TE Lawrence to be produced in 2016.
